"I have recently moved back to Woodland from Orange County and really miss a lot of the stores I used to frequent down there.
I like to give my dogs good, premium food and was afraid Target and Walmart would be my only option when looking to buy food for my babies. (No offense to Target or Walmart!) I was absolutely THRILLED when I googled dog food and found "Dixie's Paws and Claws!" The website looked promising so I decided to walk down there and check them out.
I was greeted by two extremely friendly and knowledgeable ladies who both introduced themselves as the owners of Dixie's. They were very helpful and answered all of my questions, I could not have been more happy with the customer service!
The shop is a dog (and cat) "boutique, with a great selection of dog and cat food and treats, with lots of gourmet goodies, toys, and a nice selection of reasonably prices pet beds. I was especially excited to see they carried KARMA, an organic dog food that has gotten stellar reviews. Dixie's even offers a great selection of all natural herbal shampoos and other treatments for your pet.
I cannot tell you how impressed I was to find Dixie's in Woodland. Woodland is a nice town but we've certainly been lacking in the consumer department and I am very happy to find such a gem!
Dixie's is conveniently located on Main Street, easy to get in to and the customer service was outstanding. They are slightly pricey but you can find something to accommodate any budget and I feel the experience and ambiance make it worth every cent!!

"I am really tired of the gigantic super stores and their lack of customer service. Dixie's Paws and Claws is the perfect size store for me. The two owners consistently provide superior customer service. The quality of specialty diets they carry far exceeds the "big box" stores. When I am downtown, I drop in even when I don't need something just because the friendly atmosphere is such a pleasure.

Louie likes the free treats too. I always find what I want and returned an item that I had for two weeks with no questions asked. "We discovered this great pet food store in downtown Woodland. Celia and Corinna are awesome and can answer all of your questions about pet food. They explained to me what was in commercial dog food - which was scary. Since I've made the switch to premium dog food, my two dogs haven't had any health problems or vet visits. The dogs are "seniors", but after feeding them the premium food, I have noticed that they have much more energy.
Dixie's Paws and Claws has a neat selection of dog treats, toys, clothing, food and accessories. It's worth a trip to Woodland because of this great family business. I live in Newcastle and drive about 40 miles for their excellent service." - Melinda M. from Yelp
